The audience is counting
Inspired by a traditional japanese theatre exercise Malgven Gerbes and David Brandstätter will work together with a group of performers on a performance that allows the audience to interact playfoully with the performers. Play stands in this case for cooperation not competition. Will it be possible to establish a collaboration between the performers and the audience, that will enable a respectful play between both parties? This Piece is an experiment, that demands from the participants a sensitive perception of the other, as well as the conscious intervention as provocation to the Performers. A changeable choreography that relies on the spectator as vis a vis and as taker. "A preview to counting" is an experiment to research this interactive situation in the form of a structured improvisation. The resulting project "counting" aims towards a choreogrphic and dramaturgic ellaboration of the dynamics that occur in this situation of interdependence expored in the previews. Besides the previews the system of interactive choreography is explored further in the frame of workshops.
